London Wedding Band - ViVo - FAQs
How much space do you need?
Ideally Vivo need a performance area of 5x3 metres. Although not ideal, we are able to work with a minimum area of 4x3 metres if space is more limited. We perform in all types of venues ranging from Hotels, manor houses, barns, marquees, ballrooms and intimate clubs so we do have the capability to make use of what space we are given.
How is it best to time things?
Please consider the following points when arranging the timings for the band performances.
Vivo always make it their priority to work closely alongside the client to ensure the event is catered to their needs. This being said, we also have “going with the flow” down to a fine art. It's important that things run smoothly and you get the best out of our service.
So below is an example of how we might think the night may run best for you.
Although please note that these are just suggestions as essentially this is your event/venues/big day and we absolutely cater for your needs fully, even within a tight schedule.
- Wedding performance example booking from 7.30pm-12am with 2x 60 minutes sets.
5/6pm- 7:00/8pm > Band unload, setup, sound-check (Depends on timings)
7.30pm – 8:15pm > Background music
8:15 – 8:45pm > Cut the cake & photo opportunity
9pm > First dance
9pm – 10pm > First band set
10pm – 10:45pm > DJ set
10:45pm-11:45pm > 2nd band set
11:45pm-12:00am > Background Music whilst guests are leaving.
*Please be mindful when planning sets around the evening food. Ideally avoid having the band start at 8pm if the buffet is then ready to come out. Although again this is something in our experience the venue and band always work around.
• We suggest 2x60 minutes sets over 3x40 minutes where possible.
Can I pick the bands playlist?
We love for you to choose which songs you’d like us to play from our repertoire. However, we would prefer if you let us decide in which order they are played.
Also, It is best that you let us know of any songs you definitely DO or DON’T want us to play rather than leave the playlist as it is. We need to have the flexibility to cater for all your guests, as they will all have different likes and tastes. We also kindly ask you to let us know prior to the day of the event.
Where will you travel to?
We are a party/function band based in London, but we travel nationwide and internationally.
Can I see you play live?
With the nature of our work, all of the events we perform in tend to be private, such as parties and corporate events. We do however perform a showcase every year at a venue in Midhurst called ‘Madhurst’, which is free entry. These events are held in Midhurst Castle grounds (family occasion) and really give you an idea of what we are about. Contact us for details if you require.
If you want to follow our Facebook page, any last minute public gigs that do come in will be promoted on there https://www.facebook.com/Vivo-Band-1521292437914021/
Will you learn our special song?
Of course we are happy to learn your special song. However, it largely depends on the actual song and if it fits our repertoire. Due to our instrumentation and set up It would be difficult for us to play certain songs with, for example an orchestral backing, but we will sure give it a go.
When you book us, please let the Alive Network agent know which song you’d like us to consider learning so we have enough time to learn it well.
Is the video on your website a true reflection of the band?
Vivo are very much a live band! We are entertainers but we believe in giving you an insight into our live performance energy and sound that we feel you can pick up on from our video. Obviously though, please do take into account that this is in a studio setting and not a stage at a big event. The video is a live recording so is a true reflection of what you will get on the day. We are born entertainers. We live for performing live and entertaining an audience.
How do I book you?
You can book us through the enquiry form on this website or through our agency www.alivenetwork.com. You can also email or call our booking agents on 0845 108 5500 or email us at vivo@alivenetwork.com
Are you able to DJ in between sets?
We offer a FREE DJ service with your booking and carry a laptop with over 5000 songs to all our gigs that we use specifically for DJ'ing, making sure that we keep the dance floor swinging in between our live sets.
We are happy to take requests for DJ songs.
Music playlists between sets comes as standard with every wedding booking, but if you do want a more bespoke DJ service, we do ask you to put together a playlist and email it to us prior to your event.
Any requests for the DJ service will only be possible if we already own the music you require. We do not purchase music for clients due to the costs this can incur.
Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?
If you wish to make a request for the DJ service, we will only do this if we already own the songs you request. We don’t purchase the music due to costs this can bring. Often, clients provide their iPod/MP3 device or laptop with playlists they wish us to include into our usual DJ set. You can also tell us what artists or genres you prefer and we will create a playlist to suit your tastes and preferences. If there are any specific songs you wish to be played at specific times on the night then please let us know and provide us with the music on one of the devices as mentioned above.
Can we use your sound system for speeches?
Of course for your speeches we welcome you to use our PA system. Should you however wish to use something more specific, like wireless radio tie clip mics for example then you will need to hire them in advance as we do not use these in our live set up.
What equipment do you use?
Vivo’s live sound system is a collection of some of the most desirable audio equipment available on the market with a 4K PA System more than big enough to cater for a 200-300 strong audience.
Vivo’s combined collection of instruments, amplifiers and microphones, both vintage and modern includes Fender & Mayones guitars. Martin and Chord acoustic guitars. Fender and DVMark amps, Pearl drums and hardware with Zildjian cymbals. Roland Electronics/triggers. Shure and Sennhieser microphones.
Do you have lights?
We are equipped with a LED lighting system that provides both the stage and dance floor with visual effect.
More Visual effect lighting can be provided e.g. moving heads, scanners, strobe, haze machines, etc but at an agreed additional cost. We kindly ask that you discuss this with the agent when discussing the booking.
How long do you play for?
This is something that can be discussed when booking the band through the agency. Ultimately we cater to your needs and this will be allocated into your fee when booking our act.
We offer lots of different options but our standard times are 2x60min slots and 3x40mins.
We also have the facility to offer you an intimate acoustic set during the wedding breakfast and it has been known for us to play during the church service also. Please speak to our agent if this is something that would interest you.
What time do you start and finish?
Normal start time is around 8:30/9pm usually, with our second set as the final hour of the night. Again, we can mix this up and change it to something that suits if you need us to. The normal arrival and finish times are 5pm till midnight, which are our standard times with early start and late finish fees applicable for anything outside of these times.
How long do you take to set up?
With any venue that has straightforward access (e.g. room is on the ground floor, no steps and vehicle access close by), we are normally set up and sound checked within 1.5h. We have had venues and situations with restricted access where the setup time has taken longer. Please give full details of the event venue when making the booking and any details we may need to know.
Can I provisionally book you?
We do not take provisional bookings due to our demand we do not want to be turning clients away. We do however keep a log of your enquiry on our system, so you will have first refusal on the date you have enquired about should anyone else ask about the same date.
What if the band split up before my event?
Our work is our livelihood so we are very professional and take it very seriously.
It is an extremely unlikely event that the band should split however; we would do whatever necessary to find the right band as a replacement.
Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?
We welcome people to come and sing with us, we do like to check beforehand that the people singing have some experience of being on stage though. If you would like to arrange this with us beforehand that’s great. In our experience though when people do this on the night impromptu, it has the potential to end in disaster so we try to avoid that situation! Also the stage area has a collection of very expensive equipment and instruments so we ask that people refrain from coming into this area unless first discussed with band members. Nobody enjoys asking a slightly inebriated Father of the bride or a tipsy Made Of Honour to politely refrain from spilling their drink all over our equipment whilst trying to steal the microphones during “Sex is on Fire”!!!
What will the band wear?
It totally depends on the event. We usually dress quite formally for most parties (trousers and shirt) but we are a young, contemporary band so dress down, young vibes are more our thing. Please don’t expect the wedding singer from the 90’s!!! In the past, we’ve also been asked to join in with an events theme, which we’re more than happy to do if you wish. Please check out our photo gallery for an idea of our typical wedding attire.
Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?
We always carry up to date PAT certification and have Public Liability Insurance cover up to £5M.

Does Vivo have any specific requirements?
We only ask for a clean room to use as a dressing room, something to eat and drinks for the duration of the night.
Then other than stage size, all we ask is that you dance, party and have a good time!
What type/size venues are you able to play at?
We play in every type of venue. These can be anything from football grounds, festivals, enormous marquees and tents, ballrooms to more intimate settings such as clubs and private residencies. We can cater our set for all size of events. The bigger the event though, the bigger PA, lighting and stage will have to be. So please talk to our Agent if you have any concerns and they will gladly help.
How loud will the band be?
We set our volume levels to make sure that people at your event can still have a conversation but still feel like they are at a party or gig and can get up and dance the night away. Of course we are a rock & pop function band, so the very nature of our music we will be playing means there is only so far we can turn down! Should your venue have a DB limiter, then we ask that you discuss this with the agent when you make your enquiry about us as there is a good chance that at least one of our fellow agency bands have played there previously, but if not then it is worth having a conversation about it to ensure the performance you receive from us isn’t affected.
What is the band power requirement?
We usually request 2 DOUBLE 13 amp supplies as close to the stage area as possible. We use LED lighting that keeps our power consumption down but we prefer to run lights from one power source and audio equipment from another to reduce the risk of noise interference. As a rule, we draw approximately 16 amps with everything on and have only ever experienced any issues in events in marquees where the generator capacity has been too low. If it’s an outside event with power being produced from an alternative source e.g. a generator then please state this with our Agents when making your enquiry. Any questions they will gladly answer or pass on our way.
